Dollveralls and Longies Stocked to the Shop

Dollveralls, a pattern designed by Korin Bourdo

Knit using a color from “Little Trunks Knits”  called Yacht Club.

Sized for a 10-12 inch waldorf doll. Matching cap completes the outfit.

Listed and ready to pop in the mail

set2

Longies have nearly sold out of the shop this winter.

I hadn’t realize just how low till I received an e mail asking if I still stocked them!

This is a medium to large pair I’d had in the works…a mid weight merino that will be a nice weight to transition into spring.

PPL2

Rather than longies, I think at this point in the season I’ll be focusing on shorties for summer.  I’ve a few pair in the works along with a few soakers and skirts.

More doll clothes to be listed in the shop within the next few days.
Stay warm out there

Starting The Fall Knits

It’s 90 degrees out and I’m starting fall knits….

sounds CrAzY right?

With my arm injury unfortunately I couldn’t knit for several months.  This summer the shop sold down till it was nearly empty & I feel like I’m starting all over …

Maybe I need to have a Grand Re-opening? Hmm, need to think about that more.

Anyways, new items stocked to the Katidids Etsy Shop

Pixie hat/BOGO from Carina Spencer….when worn the corners pop up.  Knit to coordinate with

Right now the needles are actually empty!

Doesn’t happen very often LOL! I stayed up last night finishing a bit of personal knitting & I’ll have photos to show once it’s blocked.

Hmm, what’s next?  I’m thinking something a bit girlie

Have a great week!

Crazy busy week At Katidids Knits

Crazy busy week, there has been a lot of knitting, a lot of sewing a LOT of mess making.  I’ve overflowed from the work room to the dining room table.

Creative mess 003

3 days of blitz sewing and knitting have taken its toll on the house.  Thank goodness I have an understanding husband!

I’ve spent the morning winding yarn for customs, prepping more skirts for dresses, blocking a completed test knit,  wrapping orders for the mail and **deep breath** attempting a bit of cleaning.

In no specific order a few of the past weeks busy-ness!

A few dresses stocked to the Katidids Knits Etsy Shop with more in various stages

Storm Knitting,

In the heat of summer?  Yes!

With tropical storm Isaac hitting Biloxi and & new Orleans we have family who evacuated the area and and came to stay with us till the storm passes.  They pulled in Monday late afternoon and we’ve been having a wonderful visit.  It’s my husbands, cousins, son’s. wife and daughter Whew! Her husband is stationed in Biloxi and needed to stay behind..

Talk about branches on the family tree! Isaiah was here last night and said Grandma, how are they related to me?  Not willing to explain 4th & 5th cousins to a 9 year old I cheated and said your cousins!  Family is always family right?

So, I haven’t tried to work on any customs so far this week.  To much going on to really focus.

There has been knitting in spurts while we chat and visit

Some striped longies.

WIPS 002

A denim blue seed stitch cowl… I finished the last few rows and cast off

WIPS 003

And a mulberry seed stitch cowl

WIPS 004

Seed stitch cowls I hope to have stocked in the next 1-2 days

Warm winter items for the shop that are always popular, and a simple pattern I can easily follow while we visit.  So far their house us ok, a lot of heavy wind and rain.  If  the power stays on she will head home Thursday & I’ll get back to work on customs.

Hope those of you in the south are staying safe and dry!

My First Entry & Stash Knitting

For the Ravellenic2012 games..

Using more scrap from the stash bins

longies with a touch of fall. I call these

Apple Cart Longies

Knitting 002

All the crisp and clear colors of fall apples. Just looking at the photo I caught myself taking a deep breath and was a bit surprised when I didn’t smell apples.

I’m hoping to have them completed and ready to stock by Monday.

One of my goals for the year is to clean out a bunch of scraps and use up at least 2-3 bins of wool.I have to admit I’ve become a bit of a wool stash junkie. When the bins are taking over the room and you can’t get to the sewing machine….it’s time to thin the stash!  No, I won’t be selling any of it, just using it up for stock items & maybe and item or 2for myself.

The Gilead Test knits coming along…maybe not as as fast as I could with the Ravellenic games now on but progressing.  This is a 6 mo size.

Knitting 003

I have the green and brown shades in solid , I need to decide which I’ll use for longies to coordinate and possibly trim the sweater.

Well, it’s a beautiful day and the garden is calling me. Have a wonderful Saturday!

Bits of Test Knitting

In between customs I’m enjoying a bit of test knitting & have found 2 new cute patterns

Soon to be released from Claire Gentry the “Lucy Top/Dress” (shown in 2-6 month sizing)

A seamless one piece garment that can be worn as a dress & as the seasons change and your little one grows a top or tunic.

I know you will be seeing a selection of these in the Katidids Etsy Shop

My understanding is this pattern in time, will be available in sizes up to teen

Lucy Top-dress 002

The second test knit is Little Star Sweater by Emily Barbee.  I’m making the 6-12 month long sleeved version.  The pattern is written for short and long sleeved versions & has versions for sweater/tunic or dress lengths.

Little Star Sweater 001

All I have left to complete is the cuffs & bottom trim and adding the buttons.  I hope to have it done this evening

Also on the needles are a pair of  toddler sized wide legged beach comber short’s

Beachcombers 001

They need a few more inches of length and a pocket added to complete.

Hopefully both will be completed this evening but I think the allure of the sunshine and pool are pretty strong

Have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend.

And remember to thank a Veteran for their service!

Newborn Sweetness

I love knitting longies and shorties but newborn items are some of my favorite’s.

No matter what color or style you use they’re just so sweet & offer nearly instant gratification.

Braided Headband & Stocking Katidids Etsy Shop

A few days ago I made this headband for my daughter.  It turned out as the pattern directed but I thought it’s a bit large and bulky…so I played with the pattern a bit and modified it to a trimmer version. It’s done and drying.  I should have a few photos up tomorrow.

Head Wrap & Taos Shorties 002

My Katidids Etsy Shop finally has new stock!

I’ve a few more items to list but so far this week…

Large “Taos” shorties, a beautiful colorway from Wildflower Whimsy.

Winters finally on it’s way and I’m knitting summer garments?!?!?!

And some more Noro…

Puga & Noro 004

I’m not sure what it wants to be yet, any ideas?

Snow tomorrow in the forecast means I’ll make a early morning run to ship orders…which means if I’m out early there will be NO snow!  Murphy’s law

Stay warm out there!
