Stocking on Little Trunks Knits on Hyena Cart!

WhaT A CRAZY WEEK!

Moving into the new room was more of an ordeal (but a good one) than I’d anticipated!  I couldn’t believe how many finished knits I found in bins and bags.  I get on a knitting roll between customs and set them aside to photo & list…….  then forget about them!  It may have a bit to do with the fact creating listings drives me crazy.

This week I pulled a few things out and listed them with “Little Trunks Knits” on Hyena cart.

  There are quite a few WIP’s that were on hold for yarn which came in the mail today.  So, right now I’m playing catch-up with a Christmas outfit I should have completed by weeks end & striped longies in the next day or so. Mama up-date photos should be up here tomorrow.

Working On Customs

I can tell the weather is changing just by looking in the knitting basket.  Longies instead of shorties, cowls, long sleeved tops or tunics & scarves.  The colors tend to be richer and deeper than the bright colors of summer and spring.

On the needles now are convertible longies. A YYMN custom using “Athena” a fun colorway by Love Ewe Yarns on licorice twist. 

 

In a holding pattern right now is a Reid Romper using Little Trunks Knits “Poetry of the Earth”.

  I started the romper and quickly realized I would run short so Jenny is dying up more for us.

The colors are so rich and vibrant I can’t wait to start back up.

 

Also on the needles is a “Tallulah Dress”  An adorable pattern recently released by By Suzanne Williams of La Petite Krott Creations.

 

I plan to have it completed for stocking on the 22nd with Little Trunks Knits…that’s the plan anyway!  I’m using another colorway of Jenny’s  “Foxtrot”.  I wanted the skirt to have a soft drape so we chose gaia worsted for this one.  This kettle dyed variation is knitting up wonderfully.  I can’t wait to see it completed.

Stocking to the Katidids Etsy Shop tonight is a small pair of longies

I’ve had them in the works for a few weeks, I simply needed to weave in the ends & finished them the other night.

The pink Shrug is in the mail, I neglected to take photos before hand!

I also shipped #8…the last of the 8 pr of legs which coordinate with 2 pr of SMSS Bloomers.  I’ll have to see if I can get a “group” photo of them all.

Mama Mail & Updates

It’s been a busy and productive week. Lot’s of little detail things finished and updated to the Etsy Shop.

Knits completed and listed with Little Trunks Knits.  Be sure and check out Jens new hand dyed color’s.  If you like what you see but don’t knit I’m sure Jen or I would be happy to help you out!

Yesterday afternoon saw a pair of custom overalls off the needles and,  late last night a test knit finished.  Both are blocking now and I’ll have pictures up later today…If the weather cooperates!

Greta Hat, A Sweet Test Knit

Amy Of Alligator Knits has come up with a super sweet little hat

A soft brimmed hat called the Greta Hat.  I believe there will be plenty of brim options and any one will be perfect for the beach, ball games, summer weddings or simply walks on sunny days!

On the needles now is a “Butterfly Dress” another great design of  Jenny’s from Little Trunks Knits.

I’d cast off last night and only then found an error in my lace hem…I couldn’t let it go so it’s nearly done for the 2nd time!  It should be ready this afternoon.

Raya at Blissful Knits has a fun new romper pattern which I was fortunate enough to test knit.

Overalls, Overalls & MORE Overalls!

First Up!

Custom Scrappy Bayside Britches with a modified bib.  Toddler size soon to be on the way to a happy Mama. 

Happy Me also!  I was able to clear out a TON of scraps…..nearly all I thought until I found another bag stashed.  But, that’s ok, this fall I’ll add length to the legs if the Mama chooses.

Next up, Keiki Overalls test knit using Stitches Under the Sun colorway “Watercolors” on BFL. Tessa Ann buttons as accent.                                                                         This was such a fun pattern and I LOVE the way these are made.  The straps are double for a nice sturdy strap, there are hip button to adjust for chunky monkey’s.  Just the true denim overall feel!

Boy”ish” Bayside Britches this time using Mosaic Moon’s “October Morning” .yet again on BFL and more Tessa Ann buttons.  A rich chocolate this time. All of these and the Mosaic Moon “Spring Basket” Kieki Overalls will be stocked on Hyena cart with Little Trunks Knits next weekAnd a lesson learned,

The hard way!

I don’t think I’ll ever again forget the final rinse when dying wool.

I loved these!

I nearly cried when I pulled them out of the lanolin bath.  I’d forgotten they were soaking (I won’t tell you how long)

The purple ran. If I’d noticed it right away I could have rinsed them out but…they soaked to long and the dye is set.

So, If anyone wants a good deal on “knock around the house”  modified Bayside britches with button legs, let me know!

I’ll make you a good deal!

I even have buttons to sew on…I may cry while I do it but, It’s a mistake I won’t make again!

On the needles now is a Belle Romper, I have just a few more inches left on the legs & the button placket.  Should be completed tomorrow.

I love these colors, great to hide stains and spots toddlers always seem to find

A Sweet Mama Small Sugar 0-6 Month Kimono Jacket.  Chocolate Cascade 220 and Purewool colorway for the longies and trim. 

Accented with a Tessa Ann Button.  

And using other SMSS pattern…

Gift Wrap Bonnet in soft pink

Accented of course with a Tessa Ann button on the chin strap.

And a 0-3 Month Ian Polo Romper.

Which sold, as soon as the sale went live. 

Such a cute romper, I know I’ll be making more of these.

On the needles now is a Belle Romper, and a pair of small gray marl longies.. Just completed a custom modified Tickle hat. Modified because I ran out of yarn!  Also Molly Bubble Tunic is done, I need to make the coordinating soaker. 

I spent an hour or so today making project bags for summer shorties. I’m in a stripe mood so look for a bunch of fun colors in the near future.

I also bagged up enough scraps for a pair each of boy & girlie scrappies!

Now is when I wish I had another pair of hands!

More Sweet Stuff on the Needles

More “Sweet Stuff” on the needles

Again using a Valley Yarns solid for the bodice and Purewool as the contrast. 

It’s much further along this morning, the legs are done & I’m working on the button closure with only the sleeves left to finish.

I’m hoping to have enough for a matching hat & possibly booties

I need to run out this afternoon and try to find flat buttons and ribbon to match.

Amy’s MM shorties are nearly done & I should have photo’s up tomorrow/

The green & blue longies are completed and have a matching sweater….. just waiting for a button to be sewn on.

I’m excited and looking forward to another guest stocking with Little Trunks Knits at months end and have projects in mind for that.  Possibly a boy”ish” romper and a few sets.

Newborn Longies are just so sweet!

These were knit with Merisoft hand paint aran weight.  A luxurious yarn that is perfect for a new baby’s tender skin.

On the needles now are Honey Crisp longies by Huckleberry Knits.  We had tornado warnings and a nasty storm today so I had quite a bit of free time in the basement which means a lot of time knitting.  I hope to have them completed tomorrow.
