Sometimes the beauty

Is in the simplicity.

Such is the design of this kerchief

 Age of Steam & Brass

Age Of steam and brass 003

combined with a color way from Lunabud Knits

Age Of steam and brass 009

Designed to be worn as a kerchief or a backwards shawl with the length draped in the front.  The ends are long enough to wrap around the neck comfortably.

Age Of steam and brass 006

A kerchief to wear in the *v* of your jacket to keep your chest warm & leave on as an fun accessory…..

I think I need to make one for me!

Midnight Knitting

So many projects I start for gifts family knits and they end up set aside for customs. Don’t get me wrong…. I’m not complaining about the custom work,it pays my bills.

But, this time I’m bound and determined to finish this The Age of Brass and Steam Kerchief  in the next few days.

I cast on late last night and got this far about  inches in.

Age of steam 013

I’m thrilled with the color flow, no heavy stacking or pooling at all…AWESOME dye work!

Today we needed to travel to Indy (2 hours each way) and I was able to compete all but the last section.  So tonight, my rear is plopped in a kitchen chair knitting away with a fresh cup of coffee at my elbow.

We’ll see how far I get!

Have a great evening

Feelin Fall

This weekend was the Southern Indiana Fiber Arts Fest, gloomy and overcast skies didn’t slow the crowds much.

I went looking with gifting plans so I had specific colors in mind for a

Age of Brass & Steam Kerchief

Hand dyed by Lunabud Knits

Fiber Fest and WIPS 005

We have another trip to Indy tomorrow & I’m hoping to complete the majority of it in the 2 hour drive.

I also picked out a some thing for me…that’s right ME!!I plan on a bit of selfish knitting and make my self a

Fiber Fest and WIPS 003

ZUZU’s Petal cowl/scarf

When I went to the fiber fest today I realized I have never kept a hand knit for myself!    Time to fix that!

I love just about any pattern by Carina Spencer & I think the tonal shading in this hand-dyed from “A Good Yarn”  will look stunning…..if I have time to complete it!

Stay warm out there!

Little Red Ridinghood

I LOVE it!

Pattern by Tina Good

Yes, knitting the skirt in DK was long and tedious but oh so worth the end result.

I have to give a shout out and major kudo’s to Raya of Blissful Knits.  This is the first time I’ve used a saturated red and not had it  stain my hands or, bleed in the laundering and blocking process.

Ridinghood 001

I can’t wait to see this on the sweet little lady it’s for

Also fresh off the needles

Angel Fish Skirt

Pattern by Elena Nodel

Using Mosaic Moon’s Woodland Friends

Angel Fish 002

Such a ingenious design and fun to watch it come together

Highly recommend both patterns

On the needles now is a pair of black legging which I hope to finish tomorrow

Fall is nipping at our ears!

You’ll be seeing some scarves and hats out soon

Stay warm out there!
