Aran twist hand dyed by Raya of Blissful Knits “Holly Berry” using the Dakine Knits Longies pattern modified to be convertible longies.  These are nice and thick perfect for night time use as the the mama requested. Packaged up and ready for todays mail

Another pair of  YYMN convertible longies.  This time I used Harrisons’s Hand dyed BFL DK (double stranded) for another pair of night time super soakers. 

I need to pick up buttons for the legs today and then they will be on the way

Whew! I need to update the knit meter after this past week..better yet,  Time to find the table top!

A couple of “nearly’s”

Nearly done that is.

A couple of Mama Updates

An Arabella Top and bloomers…Top needs trim on the straps, I cord ties and embellishing.

I took a break from working on the top and started the bloomers.  I’m about 2 inches from the gusset.  The plan is to have them done by Wednesday…..that’s the plan anyway.

Another custom  nearly done….Dakine longies modified into convertible longies. This pair is waiting for a trip to the store for buttons (tomorrow)…and the ends to be woven in.

Again the plan is to have them ready Wednesday mailing.

There have been many many e mails back and forth with plans for other customs that should be finalized in the next day or 2.  When I know every thing is set I’ll update the customs list in the order those garments were finalized. 

The Katidids Etsy shop is getting pretty sparse but I do have a few items waiting to be listed.  The next sunny day will be one for photos.

Until then, I’ll be knitting!

Accented with solid buttons from fellow Etsian,  Ayarina of LovelylittleThings

The shading in the top photo is a bit washed out, the shade is much deeper as that reflected in the bloomers

The convertible bloomers are so versatile, shorts in warm weather and legs that simply button on for extended use.

I’m obviously way behind on my posting! Summer has hit early so the garden and flower beds all need attention and there is a wedding a week away. Oh my gosh, it’s 9 days and counting!

Also stocked to the Katidids Etsy  shop a super sweet small skirty

Using Gaia in the colorway “Ballerina Girl” from Jenny of Little Trunks Knits.  I love the bold pastels of this colorway.  So sweet and delicate.

It’s been a pretty busy yet productive week! 

I’ve a custom Kenna completed (choosing buttons) and matching bloomers on the needles.

And there will be a few Kaia dresses stocked…next week.

WIPs And Another Stocking

 

On the needles now, a sweet summer shrug

using a bright solid green and trimming in

Green Strings Mountain Meadow

This photo was taken last night and is now much further along.  I’m working on the collar and the sleeves will be next.  Should be completed tonight with possibly a touch of embellishment if there are enough scraps left

Also on the needles a Something Beautiful Shrug (which I also would like to complete tonight)

It will coordinate with the Capri's shown.  The Capri’s have been my car knitting all winter.  Train delays, school pick up/drop off…they’ve nearly become a permanent fixture in my car.  Time to getrdone!  The cuffs and ruffles will depend on how much of the colorway is left once the shrug is completed.  I’ve no idea what the colorway is actually called, I’ve lost the wrapper so…I call it “Mom’s Iris’” My mom used to grow the most beautiful Iris where ever we lived…they always meant home to me & yes, I have a boatload of Iris growing in my flower beds

Stocked to the Katidids Etsy shop this morning a couple of Spring/Summer knits…

Small Shorties using 100%Purewool in the colorway red-brown….which is actually shades of lovely pinks & chocolate.

Also a pair of SMSS Bloomers without the ribbon eyelets.

A nice summer weight Gaia

Both are freshly laundered, lanolized and ready to ship.

Custom Honeysuckle Set in the mail

I just completed knitting the

Honeysuckle Top/Dress/Tunic from EviePants

& what a sweet pattern!

Some tops can become tedious after a knitting a few times but, this pattern has enough stitch changes to keep you on your toes.  I’d not knit a lateral braid before so it was a learning experience for me also.

Using a custom colorway from Family Pendragon on Avalon superwash

Bloomers were knit using the

Convertible Baby Bloomers by Carina Spencer

And accented with custom buttons from Ayarina’s Button Shop

SWEET!

This 18 mo set will be used for a little ladies 1 year photo’s this weekend.

There is a Romper nearly done and a sweater on the needles.  Update photo coming soon!

Ready for the mail

A Elizabeth Tunic for Karli.  The colorway is a custom color request she made of Christina Marie Potter a fellow Etsian.  Buttons she ordered with Tessa to coordinate

Paired with SMSS Bloomers and coordinating legs & she’ll be ready for any occasion!

Also for Karli and in the mail is a modified Tickle Hat.  Flat top that will have an Owl face appliqued.

After all the larger customs I needed a bit of instant gratification or close to it

First is an baby size using Mosaic Moon Malayan Orchid

Earglaps and tassle but, no cords.  Mama’s have been requesting I leave them off so …here are a few more with out them.

Another hat, scrappy style this time!.  This is a newborn but it has a LOT of stretch and will last quite a few months. 

 

Blocking now are scrappy longies for Sara.  They should be dry to mail tomorrow.

On the needles is another Kenna & Legs.

This one is for Karli to match the Owly hat.

Born In A Barn Hand Spun Convertible Longies

We had a family reunion in Greencastle PA this past weekend so there was lots of driving!  12 hours from Louisville to PA in a motorhome.  I had taken a large bag of knitting projects with high expectations of completing 2-3….Not!  Well, I had good intentions and did make significant progress on a few items.

Mailed before we left were the SMSS Convertible Bloomers using handspun from “Born in a Barn”.  I think they turned out beautiful and hope the Mama thinks so too! The buttons were custom from Tessa Ann.

I played in the dye pots the other day, I think this hank will be longies for the Etsy Shop pretty soon.

And a earlier photo of the custom All-in-Onsie.  I did work on it while we traveled and have started the soaker portion.  I plan to finish it tonight or tomorrow

I plan to take updated pics today.

On the needles now is a ruffled soaker.

I’m using the leftover “Faded Jeans” from BlueDogFibers

We’re squeaking out every thing we can from this skein! I’ll be completing the legs and ruffles this afternoon

 

I’ve yet to take photos but also on the needles are another pair of SMSS Bloomers using some gorgeous hand spun from “Born In A Barn” & 2 more “All-In-Onise’s.

Finished Knits & It’s HOT HOT HOT!

It’s been so darn hot!  A few days we’ve had a combined temp of 104, with 80% humidity levels UGH!  My hands are sticking to the needles while INSIDE.  The poor AC is having a hard time keeping up. 

So, there are a just a few knits ready

First up a custom All-in-Onsie ready for the mail

And bad photos again, the glow from the patio umbrella cast a peach glow Knit with Yummy Blissful Knits “Dream in Color” on BBR and Tessa Ann solid buttons to accent

And stocked to Little Trunks Knits Hyena Cart, a fun Reid Romper (Pattern of Blissful Knits) Using Little Trunks Knits “Boys of Summer” on Gaia worsted.  Short sleeved and full legs it will be great for transitional weather.  I do have enough of this left to extend the legs or, make a coordinating hat.

Again accented by Tessa Ann buttons!

On the needles now are custom SMSS bloomers which should be completed tonight, a butterfly dress which I’m completing the straps, another All-In-Onsie & a ruffled Super Trim Soaker.

Whew! Need to get these done in-between picking blackberries and green beans exploding in the garden.

Custom Longies Ready for the Mail

YYMN Custom Longies using “Faded Jeans” from fellow Etsian Blue Dog Fibers   Accented with pockets and sweet custom buttons from “Tessa Ann”.  I added simple embellishment to coordinate with the buttons

This was a custom colorway the Mama requested and was dyed by Christina Marie Potter of Etsy.  I LOVE it!  Great color choices and will look really cute when done
