Miss Alix needed a warm hat to coordinate with her Christmas outfit.  Something warm and simple.

Using the Dakine Knits pattern “Be Gentle” & sizing up with aran weight Bollicine Lampedusa gave me the perfect newborn cap.

It will be great with her Christmas outfit and, after Christmas I’ll add a bit of pink flowers

Popsicle Not Just a Summer Treat!

Can I tell you how fun this was to knit?  Winter has set in and every thing is blech outside, grey dreary skies and brown grass…no snow yet to brighten things up…blech is the best I can describe it.

But inside, bright bold colors that are just so cheerful!  Using “Love Ewe Yarns” Licorice Twist “Popsicle” a sweet Kenna Button Top.

A fun & versatile pattern designed by Nicole Ratliff of “Dakine Knits” has become a “go to” staple for wool clad little ladies. 

The coordinating Leggings were knit to button on coordinating SMSS Bloomers, another wonderful pattern designed by Carina Spencer,

Both garments are accented with adorable custom colored “Tessa Ann” Posies buttons.

On the needles now,…

A sneak peek of a current test knit using Lolly Tree “June Bug”

This project is much further along at this point then the photo shows & I hope to have completed by the weeks end.

Up coming knit is for the winner of the Black Friday YYMN custom.  It will be longies using Plymouth Yarn “Boku”.

Custom Kenna & Longies Ready for the mail

This was such a fun knit, very different than the traditional “Girly” colors

The colorway “Ash Tree” is from Blissful  Knits. Originally I purchased it as a OOAK. But, so many liked it the colorway became a staple for Raya.

Blues, greens, grey & white.  I would never have thought to mix those colors together but I really like how this turned out.  The little lady this is was knit for lives in the Pacific northwest.  It made me think of the first time we went to the rain forests along the coast.  Everything was so lush and green against the grey rocks

All types of tiny flowers & ferns I’d never seen before. (and my Mom was an avid gardener) Those memories led to the simple embellishment on the Kenna.   The buttons are solids from Tessa Ann, & the tunic is finished with a twisted rib hem.

The longies also have a twisted rib cuff with a soft ruffle to finish them off.

I'll pop them in the mail this afternoon & hope for Mama Pic’s!

Ready for the mail

A Elizabeth Tunic for Karli.  The colorway is a custom color request she made of Christina Marie Potter a fellow Etsian.  Buttons she ordered with Tessa to coordinate

Paired with SMSS Bloomers and coordinating legs & she’ll be ready for any occasion!

Also for Karli and in the mail is a modified Tickle Hat.  Flat top that will have an Owl face appliqued.

After all the larger customs I needed a bit of instant gratification or close to it

First is an baby size using Mosaic Moon Malayan Orchid

Earglaps and tassle but, no cords.  Mama’s have been requesting I leave them off so …here are a few more with out them.

Another hat, scrappy style this time!.  This is a newborn but it has a LOT of stretch and will last quite a few months. 

 

Blocking now are scrappy longies for Sara.  They should be dry to mail tomorrow.

On the needles is another Kenna & Legs.

This one is for Karli to match the Owly hat.

More Customs in the mail

It was a pretty busy weekend, productive here anyway.  Yesterday and today I spent a bit of time at the postal center mailing customs out…I think I need to take those ladies in some cookies so they don’t groan when they see me coming!

The Cali Cargo. Along with it is a small headband and flower. It was a fun knit and the colors are stunning Accent buttons by Corina of Ayarina’s Buttons

A scrappy SMSS Fae Folk Hat in Bella Rose from the skein that keeps on giving.

I just pulled the trim colors and started in.  I think there is about 5 yds of the Bella Rose left!

 

A wispy blanket for a photo prop, can’t wait to see sweet babies wrapped in this one

A simple chocolate shrug.  I love these for changing weather.  Just enough on the shoulders to extend the use of summer clothes

It’s been a crazy busy week! Looks like there’s some catching up to do here.

I’ve quite a few customs in the final stages of knitting or blocking but here are a few…

Pattern by DaKine Knits.

Using MMR dyed by Green Strings in the colorway “Fresh”

This was my first time knitting this pattern and it was great!  Very well written, clear directions & easy to follow.  So many look at this as a summer dress but I think it would be great to use through the fall and winter as a tunic or paired with a long sleeved tee and tights.

I actually just finished it, but its blocking.  I hope to have better pics tomorrow once the pockets and buttons are sew on.

Next on the list is longies using a unnamed colorway by Jenny of Little Trunks Knits.

I love the colors in this so, I’m hoping she can replicate it or come pretty close.

We will have a H/C stocking the 22nd of Sept & the plan is to have these ready to list.  I’ve yet to decide on the sizing but, I think it will need pockets for sure!

 

Casting on this evening more longies.  This time a custom colorway for Sarah.

She emailed saying “fall-ish” but then made comment  What I really want is longies with ….and gave me a list of colors.  I in turn emailed Jenny & said I have a customer looking for…..she (Jenny) played in her dye pots and sent this!
BEAUTIFUL!  I can’t wait to get started!

Also blocking and waiting for buttons is a chocolate shrug for Kalle.  It will be ready for Tuesday”s mail

Custom Updates….

On the needles now is a ruffled soaker.

I’m using the leftover “Faded Jeans” from BlueDogFibers

We’re squeaking out every thing we can from this skein! I’ll be completing the legs and ruffles this afternoon

 

I’ve yet to take photos but also on the needles are another pair of SMSS Bloomers using some gorgeous hand spun from “Born In A Barn” & 2 more “All-In-Onise’s.

Finished Knits & It’s HOT HOT HOT!

It’s been so darn hot!  A few days we’ve had a combined temp of 104, with 80% humidity levels UGH!  My hands are sticking to the needles while INSIDE.  The poor AC is having a hard time keeping up. 

So, there are a just a few knits ready

First up a custom All-in-Onsie ready for the mail

And bad photos again, the glow from the patio umbrella cast a peach glow Knit with Yummy Blissful Knits “Dream in Color” on BBR and Tessa Ann solid buttons to accent

And stocked to Little Trunks Knits Hyena Cart, a fun Reid Romper (Pattern of Blissful Knits) Using Little Trunks Knits “Boys of Summer” on Gaia worsted.  Short sleeved and full legs it will be great for transitional weather.  I do have enough of this left to extend the legs or, make a coordinating hat.

Again accented by Tessa Ann buttons!

On the needles now are custom SMSS bloomers which should be completed tonight, a butterfly dress which I’m completing the straps, another All-In-Onsie & a ruffled Super Trim Soaker.

Whew! Need to get these done in-between picking blackberries and green beans exploding in the garden.

“Legs” & Shipping Updates

Updates for Karli! 

Lot’s of SMSS “legs” to come for for Miss Izzy & this is the 2nd pair (unblocked) off the needles.

The colors were selected by Karli & custom dyed by fellow Etsian Christina Marie Potter of Woolen Mill St Yarns.  Buttons are on order with Tessa Ann to complete the pair.

Reid Romper Nearly Done & Fluffy Mail!

  The Reid Romper is nearly done.  It’s waiting on button bands and cuffs. 

I forgot to order the Tessa Ann buttons until today so I’m setting this one aside to work on customs

One of my new to me favorite dyers is Blue Dog Fibers. This is 3.5 oz. “Lucy” on an aran tweed

Stocking Time!

Nasty wet weather and a healing foot has left me with ample knitting time, so I’ve quite a few to list and more in the works.

  It’s the photos and listing I’m way behind in!

Hopi overalls have yet to be stocked but my plan is to have that done tonight along with……

Soakers to coordinate with these Tunics….that have been done for MONTH’S

I’ve no idea how I missed the soakers but, using the “Super Trim Soaker” pattern from Little Trunks Knits” they are done and ready to be listed as sets.

 

The soaker draw string will be included when purchased

The small “Water’s” overalls are done with buttons attached

Owl Buttons from buttonsbyrobin on Etsy for gender neutral use.  Super absorbent and with a pocket big enough for a paci stash!

For the medium overalls I used a color-way on BBR from Little Trunks Knits “Spring Daisy”

Finished with ruffles and Tessa Ann Buttons

Looks like I’d better get busy listing!

Custom Knits Ready for the MAIL!

I love this colorway.  I think it will coordinate with anything!  This set will see a lot of use that’s for sure~

Molly Bubble Tunic using Splash licorice twist from Same Knit Different Day

Draw strings of lime & the splash, also 2 ribbons.  I couldn’t decide which I liked better so, I included them all as each gives a totally different look.

You probably noticed my photos are back outside….I love the natural light.  But there is another reason……..

The budding artist found a BIG white board to decorate!  What can you do, she had fun and I got very lucky…it wasn’t the walls or carpet!
